I wanted to start a discussion about the best anime app for Smart TVs because I’ve spent weeks comparing different streaming platforms and honestly the differences between them are bigger than I expected.
Some apps:
Look good but lag heavily
Have poor subtitle support
Freeze during HD playback
Feel terrible with remote controls
Right now I’m mainly testing Tomato alongside a few browser-based anime platforms, and overall Tomato seems more optimized for TV navigation than many competitors.
A few things that matter most to me:
Smooth remote control support
Stable HD streaming
Lightweight menus
Clear subtitle visibility
I mainly watch anime at night on Android TV, so smooth playback during long sessions is extremely important.
