What is GFR is a medical test that measures how well your kidneys filter waste, toxins, and excess fluids from your blood. It shows how efficiently the tiny filters in your kidneys, called glomeruli, are working. GFR is usually estimated through a blood test that checks creatinine levels. A normal GFR is 90 or higher, while lower values may indicate kidney damage or chronic kidney disease. Regular testing helps detect kidney problems early.
