I’ve had plenty of people ask what is photo retouching and whether it changes someone’s appearance in the photo. The truth is retouching is meant to polish the image – not change the person in it. It can get rid of temporary blemishes, even out the tones, or just soften harsh shadows. As Visuals Clipping says, the whole point of retouching is to get the image looking its best without losing its integrity. When done right, it can really boost confidence and presentation – without turning the subject into someone they’re not.
