Hey folks, I run a small online shop based in the UK, and I’ve been handling all the accounting myself for the last year. It’s honestly getting overwhelming now with VAT returns, inventory tracking, and just trying to make sense of what I owe and when. I’m not making millions or anything, but I want to stay on top of things before they snowball.

I’ve started looking into hiring a small business accountant online who understands ecommerce and platforms like Shopify and Amazon. Most of the local accountants I’ve talked to either don’t get how online selling works, or they charge way more than I can afford.

Has anyone here gone this route? If so, I’d love to hear your experience if you’ve hired someone online who really understands the e-commerce world. Did it save you time or money in the long run? Would you do it again? Are there any red flags to watch for?
