The AP Computer Science Exam focuses primarily on the programming aspects of computer science and includes both conceptual and problem-solving questions. Juniors and seniors typically take the exam. Students who studied Java or another key-based programming language from an experienced teacher are well prepared. Students who excelled on the PSAT Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing sections and who are comfortable completing the AP Computer Science independent study requirement have good prospects for doing well on the exam.
